Coaches’ livelihoods are at stake, and “student”-athletes’ education depend on the outcomes of their performance. Sometimes, it gets hard to remember the players are 18-22-year-olds, trying to enjoy what might be the best years of their lives while preparing for adulthood. That’s why it’s good to see stuff like what happened at Northwestern’s football practice. On a bye this week, the Wildcats dressed up, and even took a few reps in Halloween costumes Friday....

The Reds have started the new season with all three points from their opening fixture. A first-half goal from Diogo Jota was added to by efforts from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah in the second half. When approached with the survey results by IndyStar, Notre Dame reportedly responded with an email that included a written statement — which is not available in entirety in the story — defending the leprechaun and its history. “It is worth noting … that there is no comparison between Notre Dame’s nickname and mascot and the Indian and warrior names (and) mascots used by other institutions such as the NFL team formerly known as the Redskins,” the school told IndyStar....

The university and Under Armour announced a 10-year agreement in which Under Armour will design and supply the Fighting Irish’s footwear, apparel, training equipment and uniforms for all men’s and women’s teams. And if that happens to disadvantage Notre Dame? The crash occurred in Covington, Georgia, a small town about 30 miles east of Atlanta, Thursday evening, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Few details were available about the deaths, injuries or extent of the damage, as federal investigators probe the crash. No Time to Die was first screened at Royal Albert Hall last Tuesday before fully releasing in James Bond’s native the United Kingdom and other selected locations two days later. Since then the film has gone on to receive mostly positive reviews that will surely boost its appeal. Prior to the film’s release, anticipation in English cinemas even prompted theater chains to hire extra employees ahead of the foreseen uptick in moviegoers....

As such, there has been plenty of anticipation within the fan base surrounding a future Metroid Prime release, and plenty of frustration to boot.
