South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff announced Thursday that a missile launched from North Korea’s western Sunan district near the capital Pyongyang into the Sea of Japan, known to both Koreas as the East Sea, appeared to have been an ICBM, classified as a missile with a range of over 5,500 kilometers, or around 3,418 miles. The missile in question was said to have achieved a range of about 1,080 kilometers, or roughly 670 miles, and an altitude of 6,200 kilometers, or about 3,852 miles....
