“It’s been a long season, but the best of my life,” Djokovic said in an on-court interview. “I’m just trying to cherish every moment at this level. As a kid growing up, you dream to be at tournaments like this and fighting for the biggest trophies in sport.”
The obvious No. 1 player in world rankings, Djokovic secured his 11th title of the year. It was his fifth ATP title, tying him with Ivan Lendl and Pete Sampras behind Federer’s record six.
